With respect to the merits of the case,
the witness stated the following:
The witness was warned to tell the truth and gave
the following answers to the questions:
Since 1974 I have been married
to the late Slobodan Trišić, fireman, born 8 February 1946 in Donja
Orovica, municipality of Ljubovija, father’s name
Dragoljub and mother’s name Vidosava.
We have two children - daughter Jelena, aged 20
and son Igor, aged 17.
For the past 9 years, my husband worked for the
heating plant in Novi Beograd as a fireman. He was a good worker and
was always praised for his work.
On 3 April 1999, around 5.20 p.m., he left home
for work since his shift was from 6.00 p.m - 6.00 a.m. As usual, I saw
him off to work not suspecting that anything wrong would take place.
We woke up during that night because of the explosion
at 4.26 a.m. Some neighbours from the top floor said that the heating
plant where my husband used to work was burning. I immediatley called
the plant by phone and asked the colleague of my husband who worked
in the same shift what had happened. He said, yes, we are on fire, but
we are alive.
My son immediately went to the plant and, at about
9.00 a.m., I learned that my husband was killed in NATO bombing at his
work place.
The loss of my husband has left me in a precarious
material situation and I want that those responsible be held accountalble
for his death.
I listened to the minutes being
dictated out loud. I have no comments to make and sign them as my own.
