Esse non sono sparite, ma č diventato piů complicato
reperirle.
Dalla pagina iniziale bisogna cliccare "The cases" - http://www.icty.org/action/cases/4
- poi si puň cercare il nome dell'accusato; da lě si
apre una pagina da cui si accede a "Legal documents" e
da qui finalmente a "Transcripts".
"Trial" trascriptions
have not disappeared, but it has become more difficult
to find them.
From the home page it is necessary to click on "The cases"
then one has to look for the name of the accused: from
there, through another page one gets access to "Legal
documents" and from there, finally, to "Transcripts".

Review by Lenora Foerstel
Slobodan Milosevic’s opening statement at the Hague
Tribunal clearly reveals the origins of the tragic fate of
Yugoslavia. To accomplish the dismemberment of
Yugoslavia, the United States and Germany ignored
international law, led NATO into a violation of its own
charter, and pressured thet the UN Security Council to
suspend international treaties. (1) Milosevic stated, “The
world is faced with a new level of chaos and moral decline
of the leading world powers.” (2 )
Media coverage of the Balkan wars was superficial and
one-sided. The press failed to expose the Vatican’s
pressure to recognize the secession of Croatia, Slovenia
and Bosnia-Herzegovina from Yugoslavia. During
World War II, Croatia had been a Nazi ally pursuing a
policy og genocide against the Serbs. More recently,
Croatia sought ethnic purity in its own Krajina region,
brutally expelling over 300,000 ethnic Serbs from their
towns and villages. In the process, thousands of
men, women, and children were murdered. Tomislav Mercep,
until recently the advisor to the Croatian minister of
International Affairs and a member of Parliament, was the
leader of the military squad that murdered 2,500 Serbs in
Western Slovenia from 1991-1992.(5)
The United States provided military aid and political
support to Croatia during their Krajina campaign. In
addition, a private mercenary army from the United States,
the Military Professional Resource Incorporation
(MPRI), was contracted to train the Croatian army in
its war against the Serbs. For good measure, President
Bill Clinton arranged to have some 6000 armed
Mujahedin brought into Bosnia to function as covert
assassins.
Cyrus Vance, special envoy to the United Nations, has
noted that the American and European recognition of the
secession of Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia-Herzegovina led
directly to the war in Yugoslavia.
The media’s silence on the hostile role of the Vatican
toward the Serbs prevented the public from recognizing the
religious basis for the dismemberment of Yugoslavia. The
Vatican’s desire to expand Catholicism throughout Eastern
Europe was ignored. Instead, the media promoted the idea
that Belgrade, Zagreb and Sarajevo were simply fighting
for political power. The US took advantage of this
disinformation and joined with Germany to carry out its
ambition of establishing an American political and
economic base in the Balkans. In order to accomplish its
goals, the Clinton administration cast its lot with
Islamic fundamentalists and the Kosovo Liberation Army
(KLA), a terrorist organization heavily involved in sex
trafficking and smuggling drugs into Europe.
In order for the US to carry out its mission to establish
an economic base in the Balkans it needed a military
presence. Some 19 NATO countries joined in the war against
Yugoslavia, and NATO’s aggression in Yugoslavia breached
dozens of international conventions. Among the 1,200
civilians killed, thirty percent were children. Some 5,000
civilians were badly wounded. The overall damage to the
Serbian economy and infrastructure is estimated at 100
billion dollars. (7) NATO also violated environmental laws
creating enormous pollution along the Danube and
significant increases in cancer.
Germany has secured for itself wide- ranging influence
over the expropriation and redistribution of Serbian state
property located in Kosovo. The seizure of Serbian
property has not been authorized by Belgrade and is
illegal under international law. (8)
In order to cover up the illegal destruction of Yugoslavia
a tribunal was created at the Hague. The idea for
establishing the tribunal came from Klaus Kinkel, former
head of Security Services in Germany, who also held close
links with Croatian Ustasha immigrants in Germany. Croatia
is once again flying the Ustasha fascist
checkerboard flag that it last flew in 1941 when Hitler
installed a puppet regime in Croatia. Madeline
Albright seized upon Kinkel’s idea and, with support from
the Soros Foundation, succeeded in creating the court.
NATO promptly pushed the United Nations aside and assumed
control of the tribunal. As a result, the tribunal
is neither an international institution nor a legal court.
With the successful destruction of Yugoslavia and the
arrogant disdain for international law, the United States
used its aggression against Yugoslavia as a precedent for
invading Iraq. Milosevic’s testimony before the Hague
court represents a belated warning to the world community
about the dangers of great power meddling in the affairs
of small and defenseless countries.
