In una montecitorio blindata, quella che doveva essere "un'assemblea
aperta" riportata anche su alcuni quotidiani era in realtà un'incontro
chiuso dove per arrivarci, il signor Kostunica, ha trovato sulla sua
strada qualche sparuto e disorganizzato contestatore.
La questura ha subito provveduto a identificare alcuni compagni e ha
pesantemente portato via un reporter.
Successivamente le identificazioni si sono prolungate verso gli ignari
avventori che giungevano sulla piazza.
Bilancio finale- 1 fermo (forse arresto con l'accusa di offesa a un
capo di Stato estero), 12 identificati (tra cui il prof. Bernardini
colpevole di aver gridato "onore a Milosevic"), una telecamera
sfasciata, videocassette e volantini sequestrati...

CI PERMETTIAMO DI PROTESTARE!
Il governo italiano, lo stesso che ebbe responsabilita' di primissimo
piano
nei devastanti bombardamenti sulla Jugoslavia (e le cui pesanti
conseguenze
si faranno sentire per decenni), ha ricevuto ieri il Signor Kostunica
come
"legittimo Presidente" della Jugoslavia. Salito al potere dopo una
campagna
elettorale ampiamente finanziata dai paesi NATO e dalla CIA in
particolare
(vedi le dichiarazioni della Albright) e sull'onda di una sommossa di
cui
le organizzazioni apertamente capitaliste come il G17 e Otpor sono
state
le vere forze motrici (vedi i loro programmi di privatizzazioni
suggeriti
dal FMI e dalla Banca Mondiale), Kostunica viene in Italia a restituire
quanto dovuto per l'appoggio ricevuto. L'Occidente imperiale chiede a
Kostunica le stesse cose a cui Milosevic rispose no: lo smembramento
della
Jugoslavia in deboli protettorati della NATO, la libera penetrazione dei
capitali, l'adozione di politiche neoliberiste che spazzino via quelle
politiche di protezione sociale che, nonostante il blocco, l'embargo e
la
guerra che durano piu' o meno dal 1991, il governo precedente era
riuscito,
pur a fatica, a mantenere.
Contro ogni ulteriore frantumazione della Jugoslavia e per il rispetto
della risoluzione dell'ONU 1244, per il ritiro di tutte le truppe NATO
dai
Balcani, contro ogni politica neoliberista che condannerebbe i
lavoratori
jugoslavi (come e' gia' accaduto per quelli russi e dell'Est Europa) a
decenni di miseria e di nuovo schiavismo capitalista, per una democrazia
che non sia solo formale ma sostanziale, cioe' poggiata su una politica
di
giustizia ed eguaglianza sociale, le forze migliori della societa' serba
e
jugoslava, non solo i comunisti e i socialisti, conducono oggi una lotta
di
resistenza in condizioini difficili se non disperate.
I gravi errori e i cedimenti compiuti nel passato dal governo capeggiato
da
Milosevic non possono giustificare l'indifferenza, non possono condurre
la
sinistra anticapitalista italiana a fiancheggiare il proprio
imperialismo e
ad accettare eventuali nuove capitolazioni del governo di Belgrado.
Chi in Italia lotta contro la globalizzazione e l'imperialismo e'
chiamato
ad esprimere la sua solidarieta' a coloro i quali, al di la'
dell'Adriatico, non hanno accettato la resa all'Occidente e si oppongono
a
Kostunica che la NATO considera il proprio Cavallo di Troia. E' chiamato
ad
esprimere la sua vibrata protesta, a far sentire a Kostunica che in
questo
paese non ci sono soltanto i satrapi della NATO, che ce' anche un
movimento
antimperialista, vivo e unitario, che si mobilita a fianco di tutti i
popoli oppressi e i paesi che difendono il loro diritto alla liberta',
all'autodeterminazione, alla sovranita' nazionale, contro il "nuovo
ordine
mondiale", contro la NATO, contro l'Europa di Maastricht, contro la
globalizzazione che non e' se non l'ultima forma del colonialismo e
dell'imperialismo.

YUGOSLAV PRESIDENT IN ITALY
ROME, Dec 11 (Tanjug) Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica
arrived in Rome on Monday, on a oneday official visit to Italy.
At Rome's Ciampini Airport, Kostunica was welcomed, on behalf
of
the Italian president, by chief of protocol Giuseppe Balboni, and on
behalf
of the Holy See, by Msgr. Laboa.
The busy programme of the visit begins with Kostunica's meeting
with President Carlo Aseglio Ciampi, to be followed by meetings with
Prime
Minister Giuliano Amato and Lower House Speaker Luciano Violante.
Monday's talks are expected in Rome to be devoted to expanding
bilateral cooperation and Italy's substantial support for Yugoslavia's
incorporation in all international institutions.
In the afternoon, Kostunica is expected to address the lower
house
of the Italian parliament, and is scheduled to be received briefly in
audience by Pope John Paul II.
Kostunica arrived in Rome accompanied by Foreign Minister Goran
Svilanovic who, as announced in Rome, is to sign several interstate
accords
in the economic area with his opposite number Lamberto Dini.
YUGOSLAV AND ITALIAN PRESIDENTS MEET IN ROME
ROME, Dec. 11 (Tanjug) Italy will back Yugoslavia both
economically and politically, and support compliance with U.N Security
Council Resolution 1244 on KosovoMetohija, Italian President Carlo
Azeglio
Ciampi said in talks on Monday with Yugoslav President Vojislav
Kostunica.
Kostunica arrived in an oneday official visit to Rome early
today
and around noon met with his host Ciampi.
The Yugoslav president thanked Ciampi for Rome's help to the
new
Yugoslav
authorities, and voiced hope in the continuation of the traditional
friendship between the two countries.
During the afternoon Kostunica is expected to meet with Italian
Prime Minister Guliano Amati.
After the talks, Yugoslav Foreign Minister Goran Svilanovic and
his Italian counterpart Lamberto Dini will sign four bilateral
agreements.

strive in its transition efforts to avoid the mistakes of the
neighbours,
the Yugoslav president is quoted in Rome on Tuesday as saying.
Vojislav Kostunica told the Manifesto newspaper "it is
necessary
that we understand that we cannot only take foreign help, we must revive
the economy, which has huge potential, not so much in material resources
as
in manpower and knowhow".
Yugoslavia is in a difficult situation economically, because of
50
years of wrong policies, as much as because of years of western
sanctions
and last year's NATO air strikes, said Kostunica, who paid a oneday
official visit to Italy on Monday.
Speaking about the Yugoslav republic of Serbia's
U.N.administered
Kosovo province, he said the Kosovo problem was a difficult one, but not
insoluble.
U.N. Resolution 1244, despite its evident shortcomings, offers
scope enough for a civilised direct dialogue between Serbs and ethnic
Albanians, according to Kostunica.
"I believe this is the only way to solve problems. This is why
I
have directly invited (moderate ethnic Albanian leader) Ibrahim Rugova
to
talks, but have not received an encouraging reply so far.
"However, this is the right way to go about it, and we shall
keep
to it, because anything else would be dangerous cosmetic and no more
than
give the appearance of a solution", he stressed.
He said the situation was settling in southern Serbia's Presevo
Valley, where ethnic Albanians have breached the security zone.
Many things tend to show the southern Serbian police, which
alone
is authorised to patrol the security zone under the 1999 Kumanovo
MilitaryTechnical Accord, could be speedily made to incorporate members
of
various nationalities, not just Serbs, he explained.

"Yugoslavia exists, and is recognized by the entire world as
confirmed by its admission to the United Nations. This is the principal
difference between us and Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic, who
does
not recognize the existence of the Federal republic of Yugoslavia",
Kostunica told a meeting on Yugoslavia in Europe held at the Italian
parliament.
It is necessary to change the federal Constitution in order to
guarantee the equality of both federal units and all citizens, Kostunica
said.
After meeting Italian Prime Minister Giuliano Amato earlier in
the
day, Kostunica told the press that Yugoslavia and Italy share the view
that
democratic changes in Yugoslavia are very important both for bilateral
relations and for the Balkans and Europe.
In addition to bilateral relations, whose intensification was
endorsed by the signing of four economic agreements, Kostunica and Amato
discussed the relations between Serbia and Montenegro, the situation in
KosovoMetohija and southern Serbia and the implementation of the
Security
Council Resolution 1244.
President Kostunica was later received by Pope John Paul II in
private audience.

territorial integrity and sovereignty, according to Yugoslav President
Vojislav Kostunica in Belgrade late on Monday.
Kostunica was speaking to reporters after returning from a
oneday
official visit to Italy, on which he was accompanied by Foreign Minister
Goran Svilanovic.
"They expressed clear, firm and unequivocal support" for
Yugoslavia's territorial integrity and sovereignty ... (and)
understanding
for the complex relations in the (Balkan) region...", Kostunica said.
He said this was evident from their rejection of "the very idea
of
an independent Kosovo", insistence on the application of U.N. Resolution
1244, on refugees' return to Kosovo, and on democratic dialogue in
settling
relations inside the Yugoslav federation.
"This is a constant of (Italy's) foreign policy and its outlook
on
the Balkan situation. "They are obviously aware that even the
smallest change in the borders might have farreaching and fatal
consequences for the peace and stability that are returning to this
region,
heralding a new era in relations between Balkan states", Kostunica said.
Svilanovic, in turn, spoke of four accords he had signed with
his
Italian colleague Lamberto Dini.
Svilanovic described the investment protection and stimulation
accord as "just facilitating future investment", since Italy has been
Yugoslavia's major foreign trade partner even before this.
Accords on regulating navigation and cooperation in the
Adriatic
Sea "should help facilitate traffic, prevent illicit navigation in the
Adriatic and so facilitate communication and the fight against crime and
corruption", he added.
