Italy: Widespread Racism in the Day of Memory of the Holocaust
A wave of racial hate is being spread in Italy by mass-media and
politicians. The aim is to fully control the public opinion and
consent by redirecting social dissatisfaction and tensions against the
weakest: minorities and immigrants. After pogroms against Roma
settlements took place in 2008, e.g. in Naples and Rome, following
false accusations of kidnapping children, news about rapes and other
crimes committed by foreigners are being amplified at the highest
