Un interessante documentario televisivo olandese, in due parti, sul
processo-farsa dell'Aia si puo' vedere in internet alla URL:

Il documentario verte sul carattere politico del "tribunale". La prima
parte illustra il modo in cui le azioni della "pubblica accusa" vengono
assistite da campagne di stampa mirate, costruite nel corso degli anni.
Un sistema usato dalle agenzie di PR ("relazioni pubbliche")
statunitensi per "istruire" la popolazione. Molti commentatori
ritengono che la creazione del "tribunale" sia stata il risultato della
conseguente reazione emozionale dell'Occidente. Nel documentario ci si
chiede come le immagini e le opinioni di gruppo influenzino la nostra
percezione dei fatti. L'episodio della ITN, una societa' giornalistica
britannica, viene considerato per esemplificare la strategia di
demonizzazione dei serbi. Viene intervistato Thomas Deichmann, che
scopri' la manipolazione delle immagini praticata dalla ITN nel caso
famoso del musulmano di Bosnia ripreso al di la' di un filo spinato
(filo spinato che pero' non stava a delimitare il perimetro del "campo
di concentramento", dal quale di fatto automobili entravano ed uscivano
liberamente). Il documentario presenta le riprese della ITN mai
mostrate al grande pubblico, che rivelano la truffa mediatica. La prima
delle conclusioni del documentario e' che il "tribunale" si trova
adesso in grave imbarazzo, non riuscendo a dimostrare le accuse. Nella
seconda parte, esso fa vedere stralci di dibattimento, con alcuni dei
"testimoni" e le difficolta' per la "pubblica accusa" a sostenere le
proprie tesi. Si contesta l'uso dei "testimoni protetti" e delle sedute
chiuse al pubblico. Il documentario rivela come ai "testimoni" (spesso
criminali di guerra) siano promesse ricompense, immunita', ed una nuova
vita in Occidente in cambio di testimonianze contro Milosevic. C'e' poi
una interessante intervista al "capitano Dragan".
Anche chi non comprende la lingua olandese puo' seguire il
documentario, che e' in gran parte in inglese, tedesco e serbocroato.

The broad tone of the documentary is the politized character of the
tribunal. The first part deals on how the prosecutions actions are
preliminary driven by the media picture develloped through the years. A
picture that was made and polished by PR firm to 'educate' the
American people. Several commentators say that the installation of the
ICTY was the result of an emotional reaction in the West to this
picture, so that it could be seen doing something. It asks the question
on how images and group thinking influence our perception of facts. The
ITN story features in the part were the demonisation of the serbs is
discussed and how this strategy developped. Thomas Deichmann is
interviewed on how he discovered the manipulation of the images (barb
wire on inside of poles, no barbed wire around the rest of the camp,
cars drving in and out the camp). The documentary shows unedited ITN
footage which supports the allegations of the manipulation. One of the
general conclusions is that the tribunal now has diffuclties in proving
the often over the top allegations and demonisations then made for
political purposes. Part 2 deals a large part with specific witnessess
and the troubles the prosecutions has making its case. It attacks the
use of protected witnessess and closed sessions. The documentary brings
into the open how witnessess (often war criminals) are promised money,
immunity and a new life in the West for their statement implicating
Milosevic. Captain Dragan gives an interesting interview from the golf
course. Even if you dont understand dutch large parts are in English,
German and Serbian.
