Proceedings and Papers of Fifth International Conference on Jasenovac

Dear Sir or Madam,
On behalf of the Organising Board, it is my great pleasure to invite you to participate in The Fifth International Conference on Jasenovac, which will be held in Banja Luka and Donja Gradina (Republic of Srpska – Bosnia and Herzegovina) on 24 and 25 May 2011.The Fifth International Conference on Jasenovac will be held in a time of sustained efforts not only to consign the Jasenovac system of concentration camps to oblivion, but also to minimize the number of its victims, officially relabel it as a work camp, and, by drawing various outrageous comparisons, redefine the notion of genocide itself.
This Conference is supported by all those who refuse to reconcile with the fact they find unbelievable, that the truth about Jasenovac has not seen the light of day, or has not been fully and properly recognized after a long period of 70 years. Bearing all this in mindthe Conference will particularly focus on the children inmates in the Independent State of Croatia, the monstrous state construct that was the only country during World War II where children were imprisoned, and even had their own camps. Also, the Conference will address the issue of other camps and execution grounds across the former Yugoslavia. The Association «Jasenovac – Donja Gradina», in cooperation with the International Commission for Establishing the Truth on Jasenovac, has raised the issue of The Declaration of Genocide Against Serbs, Jews and Roma, and it is also expected to be considered in this Conference.
Therefore, it is an obligation of not only the few surviving inmates, but even more of various professionals and researchers – historians, sociologists, anthropologists, writers, artists, political scientists and others – to demystify and reveal the facts behind this and other notorious camps in the Independent State of Croatia. We believe that The Program of Construction and Preservation of the Donja Gradina Memorial Area, which you will be given and which is a continuation of the project initiated in the 1980’s aimed to plan and construct Donja Gradina, will make a significant contribution to achieving this goal. Please find enclosed the Agenda for The Fifth International Conference on Jasenovac. Any suggestions or objections will be appreciated. After you have received this invitation, you are kindly asked to confirm your participation to:
