IRAQ: SARA' TRIPLICATO IL CONTINGENTE ALBANESE
(AGI) - Tirana, 6 apr. - L'Albania ha accettato di aumentare il suo
contingente in Iraq. La notizia, anticipata dall'Ufficio di
collegamento delle Forze Armate albanesi presso la Nato, e' stata
confermata dal Capo di Stato Maggiore, generale Pellumb Qazimi.
Il numero dei soldati albanesi, schierati a Mosul, nel nord, passera'
da 73 a 200. L'Albania e' stato il primo paese a mettere a disposizione
le sue truppe in risposta alla richiesta americana, durante il

Albania To Expand Military Presence in Iraq

Albania is contemplating the idea of increasing its
military presence in Iraq, Chief of General
Headquarters of Army Pellumb Qazimi told daily Gazeta
Shqiptare on Tuesday.
"We are examining the possibilities of expanding the
presence of Albanian commandos in Iraq," he said.
Qazimi did not mention any figure but confirmed that
the 73 commandos who are actually serving in Iraq
mission would be returned to Albania early next week
to be replaced by others.
