Il 24 Marzo 1999 la NATO, l'Europa, gli USA, il governo D'Alema-Ulivo,
con l'appoggio di Berlusconi-Fini, scatenarono una micidiale pioggia
di bombe sui popoli della Federazione Yugoslava, violando la
Costituzione, leggi e trattati internazionali.

su: "Chi e perché ha voluto distruggere la Yugoslavia"


a.. Migliaia di vittime sotto le bombe, missili con uranio
impoverito e grafite, il più grande disastro ambientale mai avvenuto
in Europa. 20.000 morti di tumore in 4 anni di cui il 30% bambini.


b.. La Yugoslavia cancellata politicamente da un governo fantoccio
al servizio della NATO e della Unione Europea. Con un consenso dell'8%
applica fedelmente le ricette liberiste con licenziamenti e
privatizzazioni.


c.. La "guerra umanitaria" alla Yugoslavia è stata il banco di prova
generale di una nuova politica egemonica per far saltare gli ultimi
residui del "diritto internazionale"


d.. La feroce competizione fra gli stati "alleati" membri del G8 sta
sfociando inevitabilmente in nuove guerre, costringendo gli Stati
Uniti ad "alzare il tiro", pena la perdita dell'egemonia mondiale.


e.. E' una guerra globale non solo militare e non solo contro i
popoli che rifiutano di farsi colonizzare. E' una guerra sociale ed
economica contro i lavoratori di tutto il mondo. Contro i lavoratori
italiani costretti a subire in questi ultimi 10 anni le politiche dei
due poli che si sono alternate al governo.: tagli, privatizzazioni,
bassi salari, cancellazione dei diritti.


f.. C'è chi ha interesse che la data del 24 Marzo venga cancellata
dalla nostra memoria. Noi, invece , vogliamo farla vivere e
contestualizzarla dentro la giusta protesta, popolare e di massa, che
in questo periodo si esprime contro la guerra.


g.. Proponiamo un giorno di mobilitazione per Sabato 22 Marzo, a
ridosso del quarto anniversario dei bombardamenti sulla Yugoslavia,
contro la guerra, per la chiusura della base NATO di Pisignano. Base
da cui sono partiti, e partiranno, gli aerei con il loro carico di
morte.

waged a campaign to dismember Yugoslavia,
including 78 days of round-the-clock aerial
attacks in 1999 that killed or injured
upwards of six thousand people. Drawing on a

Slobodan Milosevic wrote a Preface to the
Yugoslav/Serbian edition of the Michael Parenti's
book TO KILL A NATION - THE ATTACK ON
YUGOSLAVIA that just appeared from the press
in Belgrade.

The book appeared as a result of the initiative and
work of a group of patriots, which included the
private publisher MEDIAGRAF, who financed the
edition. President Milosevic gladly accepted the
request of the group to write a preface.

PREFACE TO YUGOSLAV EDITION



I congratulate all those people who gave their
contribution to translating and publishing of the
book - TO KILL A NATION - THE ATTACK
ON YUGOSLAVIA - in our country. Its author,
Michael Parenti, is an American to whom every
true veracious inhabitant of the Planet ought to be
grateful for the great courage and ability to see and
understand the events that marked the last decade
of the twentieth century.

His fellow country man, Ernest Hemingway, wrote
in 1948 in the introduction to his novel "Farewell to
Arms" (which was, actually, published for the first
time in 1929):"..wars are created, caused and
started by the economic differences, and they are
waged by the pigs which are trying to benefit from
them".

For the killing of Yugoslavia, all media, political,
economic and military means were used.

The war against Yugoslavia was conducted on
behalf of the great powers (Vatican, Germany,
America...) because Yugoslavia stood in the way
of their interests. It stood as an obstacle to the goals
of the new world oppressors, the new colonialism.
It represented "a bad example" for all those
countries and peoples who wished to stay free and
independent, and who wish to have the
international relationship on the equality basis.

The powers which preempted the name - the
International Community, only had understanding
for those who supported them. They didn't even
want to hear for the ones who didn't share their
point of view and for the ones opposing the New
World Order.

The International Community, meritorious for the
breaking of Yugoslavia, encouragement of extreme
nationalism in all Yugoslav republics (especially in
Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina) and responsible
for the national conflicts, accused others for such
actions; the ones that stood as an obstacle to their
intentions, the ones who were the victims of these
intents - it accused Serbs for the evil which it itself
caused and performed.

This was not just the immorality of the
International Community, that is, of a certain part
of it which advocated such immorality, but it was a
crime of that certain part of the International
Community as well. In a certain way this was a
crime towards Croats and Muslims too, because
they were pushed back to the past, to irrational
nationalistic savagery. But, this crime, targeted
against Serbs, was the greatest of all crimes ever
directed towards any of the peoples in the second
half of the twentieth century in Europe.

Even the military support and involvement of
Islamist extremists bothered no one despite they
were the first Mujahideens ever appearing in the
military conflicts in the European domain till that
time. Nor was the military support of the regular
Croatian Army given to the Croatian military units
in Bosnia-Herzegovina of any interest to anyone.

It was only Serbia's material and moral help to the
Serbian population living in warring
Bosnia-Herzegovina that was causing rage and
disgust of the so-called International Community
to such extent that actions against "tyrannical and
militant" political authorities in Belgrade were
immediately taken, being in the shape of brutal
economic and all other sorts of sanctions which
were imposed to the just reorganized FR
Yugoslavia, along with the military intervention
against Serbs in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1995 and
against FR Yugoslavia in 1999, in the collaboration
with the Albanian terrorists and separatists. Today
Serbs in Croatia and Serbs in Bosnia-Herzegovina
and Serbs in Serbia and all Serbs in general are
guilty for the crimes of which they were the
victims.

The war against Yugoslavia was and still is waged
without any moral scruples. Illegal "Court" in The
Hague is one of the means of that war and the
proof that it (the war) is still ongoing.

But the events, contrary to the intentions of the
creators of the New World Order and of The
Hague "Court", show every day that there is a
growing consciousness in the World of the need to
unite the forces of resistance to the new oppressors.

Michael Parenti is among those people who
undoubtedly gave great personal contribution to
that resistance.

US Congress salutes fallen hero

WASHINGTON, March 15 (Tanjug) - At the Senate and Congress
House of Representatives, several representatives of the US
authority talked with reverence about Serbian Premier Zoran
Djindjic, assassinated in Belgrade on Wednesday, and stressed that
the United States was saluting the fallen hero.
Congressman Curt Weldon from Pennsylvania expressed deep regret, and
warned that the fact that Djindjic was gone should not stop the
process of reforms and democratization, for which the Serbian premier
had been striving for.
The world laments over a true democrat and a person that
whole-heartedly fights for freedom, Weldon said, and stressed that
Djindjic had dedicated his life to those ideals and was ready to risk
all so as to bring freedom to his country. Congressmen David Dreier
from California and Steny Hoyer from Maryland also talked about
Djindjic at the House of Representatives on Thursday.
Expressing grief, Dreier said it was long ago that the
United States had learned how high the price of freedom was. Other
nations are also learning the same thing at a high price, Dreier
said, and stressed that the sacrifice of Serbian premier should not
be forgotten. Congressman Hoyer reminded of the fact that Djindjic
had had the courage for the transfer of Slobodan Milosevic to The
Hague tribunal, and pointed out that we had lost a man whose courage
and dedication to freedom and human rights was significant both for
his nation and the international community.

SI CERCA LA NUOVA JUGOSLAVIA
intervista di Hadzi Dragan Antic a Mira Markovic e Stjepan Mesic

Continuando a pubblicare le doppie interviste, la redazione in questo
numero ha scelto come propri interlocutori la prof. dott. Mira
Markovic e Stjepan Mesic.
Venerdi, 8 marzo 1991, il giornalista H.D. Antic ha parlato con il
signor Mesic a Zagabria e con la compagna Markovic a Belgrado. Agli
intervistati ha posto 14 domande uguali. Alla fine li ha pregati di
porsi reciprocamente una domanda di loro scelta
[che vi riproponiamo]:

M.Markovic: Visto che per molti anni è stato comunista, oggi come si è
trovato di destra?

S. Mesic: Proprio perché provengo da una tale famiglia, proprio per il
fatto che nella mia famiglia ci siamo sempre parlati apertamente, sono
arrivato alla conclusione che non è un qualunque comunismo ne' il
periodo di transizione al socialismo l'obiettivo che renderà felice la
gente. Sono arrivato alla conclusione che bisogna creare una nuova
società efficace nella quale sarà garantita il più possibile la
massima libertà civile e umana e per questo faccio parte di questo
partito HDZ [il partito di Tudjman] che non è di destra , ma è
un partito di centro. [sic! Ricordiamo che il CNJ riportò a suo
tempo la notizia di quando S. Mesic - attuale presidente della Croazia
- volle promuovere agli onori di generale eroe nazionale della guerra
di Liberazione 1941-1945 un suo zio che, dagli albori della guerra al
1945, cambio' bandiera per ben cinque volte.]

Mesic: Essendo una donna ragionevole e colta, la dr Markovic davvero
pensa che i nostri obiettivi possono essere il socialismo e il
comunismo? E' davvero convinta che l'obiettivo di questa società
possono essere il socialismo e il comunismo?

Markovic: Nelle nozioni sulla società teoriche ed empiriche delle
quali disponiamo oggi niente mette in dubbio la possibilità di un
percorso che porti a una società sviluppata economicamente e
culturalmente e in cui sia eliminato lo sfruttamento e la
sottomissione politica delle persone.
In molti paesi sviluppati del capitalismo occidentale oggi è in corso
un processo di socializzazione che li avvicina a una siffatta società.
A una tale società si avvicinerano anche i paesi socialisti,
attraverso il processo di riforme economiche politiche che li
introducono in una fase successiva dello sviluppo. La domanda sul
senso del socialismo si basa in questo momento sulle esperienze
empiriche del socialismo contemporaneo e si ha spesso il pregiudizio
che queste esperienze sono tali da screditare in partenza anche l'idea
stessa del socialismo. Queste esperienze offrono molto materiale
e quasi degli argomenti per le conclusioni profane, piuttosto
conservatrici e in ogni caso astoriche.
Tutte le difficoltà, le deformazioni e i fallimenti del socialismo
contemporaneo, a partire dai suoi finti regimi come era quello romeno,
i blocchi economici, la pietrificazione del sistema e la chiusura
culturale, fanno parte di un percorso storico di un nuovo sistema
sociale durante il quale molte illusioni e molti errori potevano
essere evitati, ma che in nessun caso può svolgersi su una strada
spianata e senza ostacoli. E gli ostacoli, naturalmente, non sono una
buona ragione per rinunciare al cammino.
Le società che non hanno per obiettivo il movimento e lo sviluppo,
cioè i cui ideali si riducono allo status quo o al ritorno al passato,
verranno in conflitto con la storia e vivranno con minori possibilità
di eliminare con successo le conseguenze di questo conflitto.
Per quanto riguarda la società comunista, essa finora non è stata
realizzata da nessuna parte e nessuno ha tentato nemmeno di
realizzarla. E' un sistema sociale realizzabile nelle condizioni
tipiche di un grande sviluppo economico della società e anche
di tutte le forme della coscienza sociale molto sviluppate. Perciò
ogni discorso sulla società comunista esistita finora e sul suo
fallimento è quanto meno poco serio. Questo equivoco, sulla presunta
società comunista finora esistita che adesso in Europa viene demolita,
si dovrebbe cominciare a chiarirlo prima di tutto dagli intellettuali,
dagli esperti. Senza aver paura che i motivi e gli argomenti con i
quali spiegherebbero questo equivoco abbiano una base politica o
ideologica. L'unica base sulla quale questo equivoco può essere
chiarito è la verità scientifica.

LA JUGOSLAVIA E' STATA DISTRUTTA DA COLORO CHE NON L'HANNO COSTRUITA O
DAI LORO DISCENDENTI".

"Non sapevo neanche di amarla tanto"

D. - Qual'è il suo atteggiamento nei confronti dell'ex Jugoslavia?

R. - Le dirò qualcosa che non è di moda.
Ciò che penso è in contrasto con lo stato d'animo ufficiale e
dominante in tutte le repubbliche dell'ex Jugoslavia, che può esser
identificato quale spirito nazionalista, separatista e antijugoslavo.
Io credo nella Jugoslavia. Nella Jugoslavia com'era prima di
quest'ultima guerra. Non posso prevedere la velocità con la quale essa
si costituirà di nuovo. Nutro la speranza personale e profonda che ciò
accadrà prima di quanto pensano coloro che l'hanno disintegrata.
Ma, indipendentemente dalla mia aspettativa individuale e forse
irrazionale che ciò accada presto, ci sono molti elementi razionali
che fanno pensare alla sua ricostituzione come a una necessità
economica, politica e culturale, come all'esito storico dei
processi e delle relazioni che si svolgono in questa parte della
penisola balcanica.
I popoli jugoslavi sono nonostante tutto piccoli per poter
sopravvivere nelle condizioni attuali da soli, cioè per poter
mantenere, isolati gli uni dagli altri, la propria indipendenza
economica, politica e culturale. E nello stesso tempo i popoli
jugoslavi sono reciprocamente talmente legati storicamente,
economicamente, culturalmente e demograficamente che la loro
definitiva separazione nazionale, anche se la volessero, sarebbe
impossibile.
Nei gruppi primari, nella famiglia, nella microsfera della società,
questi legami tra gli appartenenti a diversi popoli sono estremamente
profondi, razionali ed emotivi e sono piuttosto resistenti alla
politica, alla propaganda, così che sopravvivono anche nelle
condizioni della guerra civile e tribale.
In base a questi legami la Jugoslavia si costituirà nuovamente, ma
pure adesso ci sono molte persone che semplicemente e testardamente
continuano a considerare la propria patria la "ex Jugoslavia".
Se fossero loro a decidere, se fossero presenti nei mezzi
d'informazione, nei parlamenti e nei governi, la Jugoslavia si
ricostruirebbe velocemente. Ma tali persone sono estromesse da tutti
gli ambienti in cui si decide. Del resto, se loro fossero stati lì
dove si decide, alcuni anni fa, la Jugoslavia non si sarebbe
disintegrata e la guerra non sarebbe accaduta.
La Jugoslavia è stata disintegrata da chi non l'ha costruita o dai
rispettivi discendenti. L'analisi delle biografie degli ideologi
nazionalisti di spicco in tutta l'ex Jugoslavia, dimostrerebbe il vero
volto di questa guerra: in queste biografie non ci sono vittime cadute
per la Jugoslavia, non c'è quel profondo dolore per essa né
quell'amore passionale che motivavano quelli che l'hanno costruita e
conservata.
Quanto a me personalmente, ho amato la Jugoslavia da sempre. Ma non
sapevo neanche di amarla tanto finché non è stata ferita, finché non
si è trovata in pericolo. Nonostante questa guerra, non ho provato
alcun odio per i croati, per i musulmani o per gli albanesi. Continuo
a essere convinta che siamo fratelli. Per la verità, fratelli matti e
rozzi. Perciò vedo la soluzione per i popoli jugoslavi nella pace e
nella vita comune. Ma anche in una società che permetterà loro di
vivere in modo più umano e di essere loro stessi più umani.
E così, la Jugoslavia rimane per sempre la mia patria. Ho insegnato ai
miei figli di amarla prima di avere insegnato loro a leggere e a
scrivere. E anche se potessi, ma non posso, dir loro adesso di non
amare la Jugoslavia, perché quell'amore non è vero, sarebbe inutile -
loro l'amano già. Per mio merito o per mia colpa. Spero, il tempo
lo dimostrerà, che sia un merito.
