Dear friends,

Last night (July 16) round midnight I stumbled at life C-Span
broadcast of Congressman Curt Weldon's (R-Pen.) attack
on hypocrisy of Democrats who now yell at top of their lungs
blaming President Bush for "lying to Congress in order to
make war with Iraq."

The Congressman said (paraphrase):
"Where were these same Democrats to criticize President
Clinton for his appalling lies about Kosovo Albanians
which made US go to war with Yugoslavia? Only round
thousand people have died [on all sides] in Kosovo in
the year that preceded NATO attack on Yugoslavia. This
was painted by President Clinton as no less than GENOCIDE
that has to be stopped at any cost. Clinton's Administration
then went on to claim that tens of thousand even hundreds
of thousand Albanians were killed by the Serbs during
NATO's attack. Only when the war was over and we invaded
Kosovo; only when we dug all so called "mass graves" did
we found that only some two thousand people were killed -
on all sides - and mostly by our bombs!

Our bombs killed more people in first two weeks of bombing
then entire Kosovo conflict did in a year!

So, Clinton purposely lied to us about Kosovo in order
to make us go to war to Yugoslavia and then lied to boost
and justify that war while it was lasting."

I was shocked. Did the time finally came for us to hear just
what gruesome lies Clinton and his "democratic" ilk used
during eight long years of his administration. I could not
believe my ears and I grabbed the first tape I found at hand
and recorded what Congressman said. (I actually recorder
over some other programming - does not even matter which one).
I only started recording after first few minutes when I realized
what he was talking about so I do not have his full speech.
The words I wrote above are not a transcript (we should
obtain one if possible). I paraphrased.

Congressman Weldon documented his claim by quoting
some old articles (mostly published in small, unimportant
American newspapers) which - well after the fact - admitted:
"We were suckers for KLA [Kosovo Albanian separatist
army]".

The time (again) was almost midnight and the live
program showed the empty Congress the Congressman
was addressing. The time for Truth was ripe as most of
Americans were sound asleep and few who were not
were probably watching some mindless movies on other
channels.

The Congressman threatened that he will expose
Democrat's hypocrisy to the full. He said he will come
to the Congress every night - with facts - proving open
and purposeful Clinton's lies - lies about anything of importance.
He talked about Kosovo at length and he listed a few more
major lies of Clinton Administration including the one claiming
that Russia does not point nuclear missiles at USA any more,
the lies about Korea etc.

We Serbs can help in this project. There are more than
two million of us Serbian Americans who are angry as
hell at Clinton and his ilk. For too long we were voiceless,
raped, abused and called Nazis while the Serbian people
was subject to a gigantic holocaust and exodus almost
unknown in otherwise sore Serb history. For too long
we were treated as third rate citizens while our tax
dollars went to bomb our families out of their ancient
lands and property. In Bosnia where the Serbs settled
more than THOUSAND years ago (in seventh century)
and where the Serbs were (by far) the largest ethnic
group our tax dollars went to bomb Christian Serbs
out of their houses and out of everything they ever owned
- so we make room for Islam fundamentalists of one
Alija Izetbegovic.

In Bosnia Clinton Administration not only secretly
armed Islam fundamentalists - it was even involved
in ORGANIZING AL QUEDA!

shame the name of America to the end of time.
In Croatia, Clinton established replica of Nazi entity
of Hitler's time. No-one was as blood-thirsty, no-one
was as gruesome as Nazi Croats known as Ustashas.
Their leader Dr. Pavelic was a person who had a
basket filled with dug-out human eyes on his desk.
His monstrous troops literally enjoyed murdering children
in front of their parents and did other deeds that are hard
to put in words.

Today's Croatia is a carbon copy of Hitler's Croatia.
It has the same name, flag, anthem, emblem, uniforms,...
They resurrected the same unbelievable horror of WWII
while calling the resisting Serbs aggressors and even
conquerors! At the end Clinton's Administration cleansed
*ALL* Serbs from the lands they were invited to settle
at the times before Pilgrims landed on these shores!
This even Hitler did not achieve!

the Serbs out of their ancestral lands and the very

hordes of infamous Vandals Clinton Administration
helped Albanians dynamite more than hundred ancient
Serb churches and monasteries - some of them declared
Unesco Level Zero - meaning world treasure!

Vandals from now on to denote primitive, mindless
destruction. Congratulations Mr. Clinton!

No-one is as shameless as Mr. Clinton's ex Secretary
of State Mrs. Albright whose very life was saved two times
by the Serbs as her Jewish family found refuge in Belgrade
first to escape Hitler and then Stalin. This beast in human
skin then repaid the kindness of the Serbian heart by
passionately hating them. She was instrumental in
demanding that Serbs should be bombed and expelled
from Krajina, Bosnia and Kosovo. She then organized a
"tribunal" in the Hague that has a sole purpose to blame
all the Serbs who dared resist the planned cleansing
of the Christian Serb people from their ancestral land.
The tribunal is nothing but a train of appalling scandals
that dwarf Hitler's as well as infamous Moscow trials
combined.

Caro, si fa per dire, Sofri,
E' da tanto che volevo scriverti per esprimere il mio disprezzo
riguardo tutte quelle faziosità scritte sulla tragedia jugoslava, in
particolare per "le lacrime di coccodrillo" versate per i musulmani in
Bosnia e i loro bambini, come se gli "altri" bambini non fossero
soltanto dei bambini.
Tu puoi avere le inclinazioni sentimentali e politiche che vuoi, ma
bisogna dire anche la verità (non hai mai, per esempio, citato i
mujaheddin tagliagole, insieme a Bin Laden in Bosnia), e la verità,
soprattutto in una "guerra civile" non sta soltanto da una parte.
Se "non chiamando le cose con il loro nome si seminano disgrazie tra la
gente", allora ritieniti anche tu responsabile della distruzione della
Jugoslavia, degenarata nella barbara aggressione della NATO -USA.
Scontando la tua pena in carcere, almeno moralmente puoi intendere la
tua detenzione anche in questo senso, perché hai seminato tanto odio
verso un intero popolo.
Tu, condannato in tutti i gradi possibili eppure detenuto privilegiato,
ti diletti a "farci la morale", scrivendo articoli, intervenendo alla
TV, vomitando tuttora, insieme ai radicali, su di una figura che ha
rappresentato un popolo che non ha voluto sottomettersi allo stivale
dell'imperialismo americano. Deprecabile è che ti diano lo spazio per
farlo. Perciò stai bene lì, tranquillo, a scrivere i tuoi articoli,
magari anche la tua autobiografia di prossima pubblicazione! Arrogante
come sei, chi può figurarsi che tu chiederesti personalmente la
grazia?! Meglio lasciarlo fare alla "sinistra (che) difende Sofri".
Ma quale sinistra!? I sinistroidi, i tuoi "compagni di merende", i vari
Lerner, Ferrara, gli intellettuali borghesi "nostrani" tipo Matvejevic
(quest'ultimo poi merita tutto il nostro disprezzo di jugoslavi)...

Polpette avvelenate: la grazia a Sofri

Forse mi avventuro su un terreno che non conosco e che mai potrò
conoscere, ma la questione della grazia ad Adriano Sofri fa capire che
lì sotto c’è molto di più di quanto noi poveri mortali, ex militanti
semplici di Lotta Continua, ex appassionati ed extraparlamentari, che
seguivamo quello che Lotta Continua faceva negli anni Settanta, incluso
i discorsi nelle piazze di Adriano Sofri, abbiamo mai potuto capire.

Improvvisamente è venuta fuori, ancora una volta, l’annosa questione
della grazia a Sofri. Oramai qualcuno lo dipinge come il Pasolini dei
nostri anni, altri come un “fine intellettuale”. Insomma deve essere
liberato. Perché? Il tutto comincia, in questa occasione, con un
articolo, che più vuoto non si può, del nuovo direttore del
“Corrierone”, Stefano Folli, domenica 13 luglio. Basterebbe leggere il
suo editoriale per capire che “sotto il vestito “ cioè l’importante
tribuna del quotidiano di Milano, non c’é “niente”, c’è “il niente”.
Scrive Folli che Sofri, per il fatto di essere Sofri “è oggi uno dei
maggiori intellettuali italiani”. Il resto del pezzo, che deve tenere
presente il fatto che Sofri è stato davvero il mandante del delitto
Calabresi, o che almeno così la giustizia italiana lo ha giudicato, e
nello stesso tempo deve chiederne la liberazione – non si può tenere il
“novello Pisolini” in carcere -, pur non potendosi dimenticare le
ragioni della famiglia del commissario ucciso 31 anni fa, si avviluppa
su un niente che deve avere un substrato umano, umanissimo, per potere
stare in piedi.

Quindi perché Sofri deve essere liberato? Perché è l’oggetto di un
palese caso di mala giustizia, vittima, lui ed altri due, Bompressi e
Pietrostefani, di processi che si basano su contraddizioni evidenti?
Perché è un simbolo della vitalità politica degli anni ’70, di quei
“formidabili anni”? No, la ragione è che Sofri deve essere  liberato
per quello che è ora, non per quello che era, lui ed altri come lui
allora ed in questa occasione processuale. Ora Sofri frequenta molti a
destra ed a sinistra. E’ amato da tutti, ora. Da Gustavo Selva e da
Giuliano Ferrara, che hanno sottoscritto per la sua liberazione e che
lo fanno scrivere sul “Foglio” – ma anche altri periodici, chiaro
esempio di indipendenza politica, come Panorama, si avvalgono della sua
presenza fissa – e a sinistra anche su “Liberazione” appaiono sovente
ora tentativi di nobilitare tale campagna, invero con poco successo,
dato che lo stesso Sofri non rivendica mai la sua storia, ma scrive di
tutti e di tutto, ora, come, appunto, “un fine intellettuale”.

Uomini e donne di sinistra hanno messo in piedi un comitato di
liberazione – Liberi Liberi – che si da molto da fare. Mano nella mano
destra e sinistra del nostro schieramento parlamentare, ben in
duecento, lo vogliono libero. Ciliegina! Anche Berlusconi lo vorrebbe.
Naturalmente il ministro Castelli, che viene inutilmente preso in giro
da Antonio Tabucchi, in un affannato articolo – il Manifesto, 18 luglio
-, ha buon gioco nel dire, in soldoni, se si punta alla riabilitazione
umana, allora ve ne sono molti altri, fascisti, nazisti, leghisti
serenissimi, ex-BR. Insomma un bel fascio di ex, opposti estremisti di
un tempo, che non sfigurerebbero in una galleria tipo “come eravamo” e
come per fortuna non siamo più. Cambiamo pagina – dice Castelli -
allora anche Sofri, così come tutti gli altri rimasugli, potranno
uscire definitivamente dalla galera.

Tutti bollati un tempo, tutti salvi ora, per salvare la schifosa
situazione presente in cui se si ha potere si può fare e dire quello
che si vuole – Bush e Blair fanno da esempio glorioso. Non si deve
rimanere legati al “vecchio “, il vecchio involucro della democrazia
borghese che comunque qualche sinecura per i soprusi l’aveva. Altro che
Craxi, morto dopo un tentativo che appare come una marachella di
bambini dell’asilo in confronto a quello che si sta sostanziando da
quando Berlusconi è al potere, ed anche da prima, da quando questa
melassa di centro sinistra ha governato l’Italia. Ed allora ecco che
anche questo tormentone estivo della grazia a Sofri può rientrare in
questo disegno. Possibile che lui non lo capisca? Possibilissimo. O
forse dobbiamo pensare al peggio: che lo capisca e che sia d’accordo?

Summer's Poor and Bitter Harvest

HOT, STILL DAYS IN June brought harvests early in Republika Srpska, the
bountiful heartland of Bosnia-Herzegovina and much of the Balkans.
There are now fewer men to till the fields, so agricultural
productivity in 2003 remained at around 30 percent of the "normal"
times, the years untouched by wars. Still, the serried rows of corn
crowd the fields around Sijekovac in the district of Srpski Brod.

The corn grows hard to the walls of shattered farms; shells of homes,
gutted and bullet-ridden. They will disappear within a generation, most
of them; returned to the soil. Little will be spoken of them, for the
people of the region were taught not to speak of tragedies and
cruelties endured. Marshal Tito said, after 1945, that to heal the
wounds of internecine war, they must never be discussed.

But after the Ustase extremists of the 1941-45 "Independent State of
Croatia" had quietly slipped back into their communities - vanishing
like Iraqi Republican Guardsmen after the US war against them - leaving
Serbian communities fractured, the policy of "never talking" failed to
serve the peoples of the region. Croatia, part of the German Third
Reich, was not "de-nazified" after World War II, and the Ustase waited
and waited, and its grandsons re-emerged in 1991.

At that time, before Bosnia-Herzegovina declared its independence from
the dying Federal Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia (FSRY), the Ustase,
supporting (and supported by) Croatian Pres. Franjo Tudjman, crossed
the river into Srpski Brod and began butchering Serb families. This was
before the Army of the FSRY, the JNA, was accused of triggering
Bosnia-Herzegovina's demand for independence.

I met in the shattered remnants of the Orthodox Church in Sijekovac
with many of the survivors of the genocide waged against them. Not one
sought vengeance, though they had spent years in Croat or Muslim
concentration camps. Not one sought vengeance for the families lost, or
the homes destroyed.

They only asked why they were still being blamed for a war they did not
start nor seek.

I had visited the lands of the former Yugoslavia during the wars of the
1990s, and heard the older Serbs say: "The truth will come out." But
the truth is written by victors, and until now the histories of the
1990s of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia-Montenegro, have been
written by terrorists. Are they the victors? Terrorists whose roots go
back into the Ustase? Terrorists who flocked into Bosnia-Herzegovina -
and remain there - funded and supported by the Government of Iran and
by the Osama bin Laden organization?

It is one thing to stand in contemplation among the trees of Donja
Gradina, in Republika Srpska,where 700,000 Serbs, Jews and Gypsies were
killed in the Jasenovac concentration camp complex during World War II.
It is another thing to look across the river, into the Croatian fields
of Jasenovac, and see that history there has been literally erased. And
to know that the real victims of the war in this beautiful area are
being victimized again in death by being blamed unjustly for the 1990s
war and its atrocities.

The suppression of history delays peace in the Balkans.

NATO holds first post-war joint army training program
for Bosnians

SARAJEVO, July 22 (AFP) - NATO-led peacekeepers said
Tuesday they had brought together army officers from
Bosnia's Serb, Muslim and Croat communities for the
first joint training program since the war that pitted
the three ethnic communities against each other.

The program, organized in early July in the southern
city of Mostar, brought together 165 officers from the
armies of the two entities that make up Bosnia -- the
Muslim-Croat Federation and the Serb-run Republika
Srpska.

James Billings, spokesman for the NATO-led
Stabilisation Force (SFOR), told a press conference
that the program had "paved the way for further
cooperation in the field of joint military training."

Bosnia's two entities which were formed after the
1992-1995 war each have their own army under separate
chains of command.

NATO has demanded the establishment of a common
command and control system for the armed forces of the
two entities as a requirement for Bosnia to join the
alliance's Partnership for Peace program.

Membership of the program is generally considered a
precursor to membership of NATO.

NATO peacekeepers seize large amounts of wartime
weapons in Bosnia

BANJA LUKA, Bosnia-Hercegovina, July 22 (AFP) -
NATO-led peacekeepers in Bosnia said Tuesday they had
seized large amounts of illegally-held weapons and
ammunition from the country's war since the start of
the year.

Stabilisation Force (SFOR) troops collected a total of
24,377 hand grenades, 6,250 mortars and mortar shells,
444 mines, 243 kilograms (535 pounds) of explosives,
some 400 rifles and 26 rockets in northwestern Bosnia,
an SFOR spokesman told AFP.

The weapons were gathered between January and June in
an area under the control of SFOR's northwest brigade,
covering approximately one quarter of the country,
mainly under Bosnian Serb control, spokesman Mark
Hamilton said.

Some of the weapons have been handed over to SFOR by
those who were illegally holding them.

Bosnia-wide Operation Harvest is being conducted since
1998, with the aim to collect all illegally-held
weapons remaining from the 1992-1995 war in the former
Yugoslav republic.

In November 2002, the peacekeepers seized some eight
tonnes of illegal weapons hidden in a warehouse in the
northwestern town of Prijedor, while in May they
discovered over three tonnes of illegal arms at a car
dump in the southern town of Mostar.

Postwar Bosnia has two semi-independent entities --
the Republika Srpska and the Muslim-Croat Federation.

The movie 'JUDGMENT!' Exposes the Phony
'Death Camp' Pictures that Fooled the World

In August 1992, millions of people were shocked by photographs of a
supposed Bosnian Serb death camp.

The photos were produced by ITN, the British TV news giant, from
footage shot by their film crew, which had spent a long day in Bosnia.

Most of the photographs featured a tall, thin man with a deformed
chest, stripped to the waist, apparently imprisoned behind barbed wire.
You might have seen those pictures.

They were staged and doctored: a hoax. This is proved in the Emperor's
Clothes movie, 'JUDGMENT!'

To start with, the barbed wire was staged. The ITN film crew went
inside a storage area surrounded by a chicken wire/barbed wire fence.
They filmed from *inside* that enclosure - through the barbed wire -
and in that way created the false impression that they were filming
people imprisoned behind barbed wire. And that was only their first
cute trick. Step by step, 'JUDGMENT!' will show you exactly how the
phony pictures were created.

The phony pictures were broadcast worldwide starting on August 6th.
Twenty minutes after they were shown on US Television...

Mr. Bush responds with lightning speed

On 6 August 1992 just *20 minutes* after the pictures were broadcast,
George Bush, Sr. held a press conference at a Colorado Air Base:

"Reports say that 20 minutes after the ITN footage was shown in the
United States, President George Bush changed his hands-off policy and
promised to 'press hard for quick passage' of a UN Security Council
resolution authorising the use of force in the Balkans."

President Bush demanded that the Bosnian Serbs and the Republic of
Serbia be harshly punished, including:

"...tighten[ing] economic sanctions on Serbia so that all understand
that there is a real price to be paid for the Serbian government's
continued aggression."

Bush also announced that the U.S. would recognize Croatia, Slovenia and
Bosnia as independent from Yugoslavia. Thus he used the phony death
camp photos as an excuse to endorse the break-up of Yugoslavia. By
recognizing the Bosnian government, run by the Islamic fundamentalist,
Alijah Izetbegovic, Bush guaranteed that the Bosnian war would continue.

Consider the remarkable speed with which President Bush reacted.

Some photos were shown on TV.

Immediately, President Bush contacted his cabinet members, who,
coincidentally, had seen the photos.

They conferred. Somehow they determined that the pictures are genuine.

They contacted leaders of Germany, England and possibly other
countries. They planned draconian measures including economic sanctions
that would cut Serbia off from the world.

They contacted congressional leaders who agreed that Bush should
announce the US intent to recognize three Yugoslav secessionist states
- Croatia, Bosnia and Slovenia.

They called a press conference at a Colorado Air Base. They wrote a
press release. They wrote Mr. Bush's speech. He learned the speech.

Newspapers, wire services and TV stations received the press release.
Film crews traveled to the Air base and set up their equipment.

And all this was done in 20 minutes.

Isn't it more likely that the timing of the broadcast of these pictures
on TV was coordinated between ITN and the State Department or the CIA?
That Bush was put on TV right after the pictures so that ordinary
people would believe that the pictures had compelled President Bush to
act?

Perhaps ITN's trip to Bosnia, supposedly to "investigate claims that
concentration camps had been set up" (Strait Times), was planned as a
hunt for the right pictures to produce doctored evidence.

E' giallo sul ruolo di "Panorama" nella vicenda del dossier-uranio

«Panorama pagò centomila euro il falso dossier». E «la trattativa del
settimanale del premier si svolse a Washington». l'Unità ribadisce e
precisa i contorni di un giallo politico-giornalistico il cui
straordinario rilievo, per Articolo 21 si sintetizza così: «Il falso
dossier uranio è utilizzato da Bush e Blair per motivare l'attacco
all'Iraq. La prova che mancava viene fornita, guarda guarda, dal
settimanale d'assalto dell'amico Berlusconi. Le tre B procedono fedeli
e compatte verso la guerra bugiarda. Berlusconi, presidente del
Consiglio, conferma in Parlamento che esistono prove irrefutabili del
possesso di armi di distruzione di massa da parte di Saddam. Il premier
era distratto? Non aveva letto i rapporti Sismi. Il suo direttore di
fedeltà Rossella, lo aveva tenuto all'oscuro di una notizia di tale
portata strategica? L'intero Parlamento avrebbe di che interrogarsi».
Così come il Comitato parlamentare di controllo e la Procura di Roma.
Nonché gli organi di tutela della deontologia giornalistica,
meritoriamente intervenuti per vicende ben meno importanti.

Nella ricostruzione del direttore Carlo Rossella e della giornalista
Elisabetta Burba di Panorama, raccolta dal Corriere della Sera fra
sabato e domenica, non si fa menzione né dell'origine americana dei
documenti, né dei quattrini pagati per ottenerlo, né di un qualsiasi
ruolo di Berlusconi. «Non si è trattato di un "infortunio"», scrive
Gianni Cipriani. «Si è trattato di un inquinamento ben studiato e
riuscito»: a) «c'è qualcuno (in Usa, ndr) che vuole immettere nel
mercato dei servizi segreti un dossier di "carta straccia"»; b) il
Sismi, che si accorge della "bufala", lo chiude in cassaforte; c) "la
carta straccia", ben pagata, è andata da Washington a Roma, e qui,
«secondo una nota apparsa sul sito Articolo 21, i contatti sarebbero
stati tenuti da Pino Buongiorno, all'epoca corrispondente del
settimanale dagli Stati Uniti. Attraverso questa mediazione sono state
create le premesse per l'attivazione della Burba»; d) «qui (a Roma,
ndr) è stata valutata e portata all'ambasciata americana», come
confermeranno i diretti interessati, dalla Burba su iniziativa e
volontà di Rossella: e) «dall'ambasciata il carteggio è tornato negli
Stati Uniti, al Dipartimento di Stato, che a sua volta lo ha girato
alla "comunità di intelligence"», essendo diventato nel frattempo
"carta pregiata" legittimata dall'avvenuta "triangolazione"
Washington-Roma-Washington. Triangolazione alla quale si sono sottratti
i servizi segreti del Paese guidato dall'alleato Berlusconi, ma nella
quale avrebbe avuto un ruolo, anche se solo di semplice passacarte, il
settimanale di proprietà dell'amico Berlusconi.

«Questa storia risale all'ottobre del 2002», racconta Elisabetta Burba
sul Corriere. «Una mia fonte, che in passato si era rivelata
attendibile, mi diede alcuni documenti... Mi resi conto che poteva
essere uno scoop mondiale... Se si trattava di una bufala e io l'avessi
pubblicata avrei finito la carriera». D'accordo con Rossella, va in
Niger per controllare. Torna a Roma spiegando al direttore che «la
storia mi sembrava una bufala... Rossella mi organizzò un incontro con
alcune persone dell'ambasciata. Andai da sola e diedi loro il dossier.
Nessuno mi disse più nulla e comunque la decisione di non pubblicare
era già stata presa».

Conferma Rossella: «Sapevo perfettamente che quel materiale poteva
rivelarsi uno scoop mondiale e dunque chiamai personalmente l'ufficio
stampa (dell'ambasciata Usa, ndr) e li informai di quanto stava
avvenendo. Proposi di consegnare loro una copia del dossier per avere
una valutazione». Perché, gli chiede Fiorenza Sarzanini, non vi
rivolgeste per le verifiche ad esperti o a fonti governative del nostro
Paese? Rossella: «Perché ritenevo che gli unici in grado di dare una
valutazione corretta fossero gli americani che da anni si occupano di
Iraq e di armi di distruzione di massa. Il mio obiettivo era
esclusivamente quello di non pubblicare una "polpetta avvelenata", non
di informare gli Stati Uniti».

In realtà, rileva Cipriani sull'Unità, «quando si parla di cose del
genere, gli interlocutori non sono esattamente semplici diplomatici di
carriera» e perciò «è abbastanza evidente che la direzione di Panorama
si sia rivolta agli 007 americani sapendo ciò che stava facendo».
Perché allora non rivolgersi alle autorità italiane? E qui c'è "un
particolare curioso": una intervista esclusiva per l'Europa di
Condoleezza Rice a Panorama. «Ottimo scoop. Una coincidenza? O una
chiacchierata concordata tramite l'ambasciata di via Veneto che voleva
dimostrare riconoscenza?».
